You know that part towards the end of a lot of romance novels where the couple breaks up, everything is bleak, and it looks like they'll never find their way back to each other? Well, that's called the 3rd act breakup, and as it turns out, a lot of readers hate it. Personally, if done well, I think a 3rd act breakup can be super emotional and make for great reading. But that doesn't mean I don't also appreciate the hell out of books that manage to have no 3rd act breakup. So, for all you 3rd act breakup haters out there, here's a list of a few romances that bucked the trend, had their couples talk out their differences, and made it to happily ever after with a minimum amount of angst:

The world is a trash fire right now. My coping mechanism is reading romance novels. But not just ANY romance novels. I'm talking about light, fluffy, low-angst, hilarious romance novels I can escape into and forget about *gestures wildly to EVERYTHING*. So, without further ado, here are some awesome, light romance novels you can escape into:
Romantic Comedy/Contemporary Romance Publication date: 04/29/2022 Kindle Unlimited: Yes Cliffhanger: No I expected laughs, sexy times, and characters I'd adore when I picked this one up. I was not let down...
Today I read a review for Neighbors With Benefits, a new release, on Goodreads that called it a great "rom come." I know the reviewer probably meant "rom com", but honestly, I like "rom come" better, because that lets me know the book is a romance that's also funny, AND has spicy times. So, without further ado, here are some of my favorite "rom comes" for your reading enjoyment. You're welcome:
There are a lot of misconceptions out there about self-publishing. And while most of these misconceptions are just so idiotic they're laughable, there are others that are actively hurting authors everyday. Why should this impact you as a reader, you might ask? Well, if your favorite self-published author is being hurt by something, he/she might decide to bail on writing all together and never do it again, and where does that leave you? It leaves you without a lot of great books to read, that's where. So, that said, here are some things authors wished readers knew about self-publishing:
I was looking through the book lists on the site, and discovered a glaring omission. I've never had a sapphic romance list!!! I was SURE I put one on the site last year. I guess I was dreaming that. So, without further ado, here are some awesome sapphic romances that'll brighten your #fridayreads and #weekendreads:
Look, as a reader, I'll admit that sometimes I want a light, easy, breezy read, and sometimes I want a book that'll knock me right out of my comfort zone. I don't read dark romance often, but I've read a few great ones, and I gathered a few other recs from readers I trust. So, that said, here are some dark, twisty romances that'll move you out of your reading comfort zone in the best possible ways:
I don't review half as much as I used to. My reasons for that are vast and mysterious (not really...I explained it all right HERE, but "vast and mysterious just sounds better), but that doesn't mean I haven't been reading just as much as I always have. So, that said, here are some great reads I discovered lately that you might want to consider checking out, too:
Last week on Twitter, someone asked for "filthy" romance recs. Some of the recs there were amazing. Others were what I would consider tame at best (cough*Colleen Hoover*cough) and not even romance novels at worst (i.e.: The Fault in Our Stars, Nicholas Sparks, etc.). So, with that in mind, I thought I'd put together a list of the spiciest romance I've read. These are reads that I would consider a 5 chilli pepper rating on my rating scale, which can be found HERE. Grab a glass of ice water and get ready for these SUPER spicy romances:
Overall, I find TV to be a huge disappointment these days. There's so many reboots and shows that get cancelled before they even have a chance to shine that I prefer to read a book rather than turn on the TV 98% of the time. But sometimes, when my brain gets tired, it's good to grab that remote and dig into a bingeable series. And lately, I've found a few good ones that aren't technically romances, but they have some surprise romantic elements that I think all you romance novels will adore. For lack of a better term, I call these horny tv shows. But the horny levels are completely unexpected, which makes them all the better. So, without further ado, here are the awesome horny, non-romance tv shows that I think all romance readers should check out:
As an only child, I have no idea what it would be like to have a brother who had hot friends for me to crush on. But it's popped up in enough romance novels to make me wish I did! Anyhoo, for fans of this particular trope, here are some brother's best friend romances that are primed and ready for #FridayReads. Enjoy:
This book served as a harsh reminder that I've aged out of new adult romance and probably shouldn't read it anymore.
This is one of my all-time favorite romance tropes. When a hero is ready to burn the world down to save his love, that book has my FULL attention. Here are just a few of my favorites:
The whole boss/employee trope can go horribly wrong because of power imbalance issues, and I totally understand that it's polarizing. Readers either love it, or hate it. And I will admit that I've read some TERRIBLE boss/employee romances where my only thoughts were why the employee didn't report the other character to HR for sexual harassment. But, like just about any other trope, in the hands of a great author, it can be all kinds of awesome. These are but a few of those books:
This tweet got my FULL attention on Valentine's Day because one of my all-time favorite romance novel tropes is morally grey heroes and heroines. I even did a whole post one time about why villains are so much sexier than heroes. And then there was the time I talked about villains who deserved amazing redemption arcs. And then there was that time I talked about why I loved sexy villains and wouldn't apologize for it. And then there was the time...well, you get the picture. I do love me a sexy villain. So, with that in mind, I wanted to share a list of romance novels that feature characters who have done some villainous things (maybe even for some decent reasons), but still found their happily ever afters--because contrary to what JJ Abrams thinks, when you turn back to the light, you don't have to DIE to find redemption and forgiveness:
