Let’s be honest. Workplace romance in real life is messy and ill-advised. (I also suspect it’s a little unrealistic, because I’ve worked lots of places and never once met anyone I’d even remotely consider getting romantically involved with. But I digress…) But in romance novels, it remains one of the all-time most popular tropes. Why is that? Well, these books—and all their awesomeness—MIGHT have a little something to do with it…
’ve been pretty vocal about things I can’t tolerate in romance novels and tropes I never want to see again. But I will admit that there are just some authors who so darned good that I can forgive nearly anything. And this post is all about a few of my favorite exceptions.
