So, since the Great Book Slump of 2020 was broken by Isabel Jordan's The Has-Been and the Hot Mess, it's apparently going to be smooth sailing for the rest of the year (fingers crossed), because this book was absolutely delightful. Here's the full review:

The Great Book Slump of 2020 is over!!!
So, a while back, I put together a rock star romance list and got RIPPED A NEW ONE for one of my recommendations. (I stand by that recommendation, by the way--but if you're curious, check out the comments here.) Long-story-short, this reader was irritated that one of the books featured a rock star with addiction issues and a checkered sexual history (ahem)--and he wasn't very nice to his newest female employee. While I didn't agree with what this individual had to say (she wasn't very kind and didn't use her inside voice, that's for SURE), it did make me realize that manwhores and alpha jerkwads DO seem to show up a lot in rock star romances. BUT, as with anything else in life, there are exceptions, of course. So, with that in mind, here are my favorite rock star romances that do NOT feature a manwhore or alpha jerkwad lead. You're welcome:
The DNF Report...again
Well, the Great Book Slump of 2020 rages on. There were more books thrown on the DNF pile last week. Here's the full report (save yourselves...it's too late for me):
Friday the 13th doesn't have to be all scary and gloom and doom. We could just read great romance novels instead of waiting for something awful to happen. Just a thought. And with that thought in mind here are 13 GREAT 2020 romance novels that I hope you'll adore just as much as I did:
What about y'all? What books are in your top 13 for 2020? Feel free to share 'em in the comments!
Yes, I'm still in a horrific book slump. But that doesn't mean I'm ready to give up. In fact, there are several new releases coming up this month that I'm crazy-excited for. Hopefully, one (or all) of them will save me from the pits of book despair. (No pressure, authors) So, here they are--my hopefuls:
I think I've made it fairly clear over the years that I'm a HUGE fan of grumpy romance heroes--especially the "grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one" trope. But I got to thinking...what about the grumpy romance HEROINE? When is she going to get some love? You know, that heroine who is a good, likeable person at heart, but who is just OVER all the BS? The tired, put-upon, "been there, done that" heroine. I love that heroine! So, I went on a search (I searched far and wide, because these heroines are NOT as plentiful as the grumpy heroes) and came up with what I think is the best list of grumpy heroines in romance that you'll ever find. (If I do say so myself) Don't say I never gave you anything, OK? Happy reading:
This week's DNF report
While I did get a brief reprieve from The Great Book Slump of 2020 when I read an ARC of The Has-Been and the Hot Mess by Isabel Jordan, I have been sent back to the pits of book despair. Here's this week's DNF report:
