CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE

Title: Royally Endowed
Author: Emma Chase
Publication date: 08/14/2017
Kindle Unlimited: No
Cliffhanger: No

Holy crap this book is awesome. I was on an epic run of shitty reading luck, so when I saw  there was a new Emma Chase release, I jumped all over it. I knew Ms. Chase would save me from my reading slump—and God bless her, she did.

I have absolutely zero criticism for this book. (And before y’all ask, yes, I’m feeling OK. The book is just that freakin’ good.) So, I’ll just go ahead and give you my top 10 reasons why you should be 1-clicking the crap out of this book, rather than reading any reviews:
  1. Ellie is an AWESOME heroine. She’s sweet and quirky and tender-hearted, but not naive. She hasn’t had a terrible life, but it hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows, either, and she doesn’t let it taint her sunny disposition and zest for life. (There’s a lemon reference in there with the word “zest”. Those of you who’ve read the book will get it. Those of you who haven’t...wait the hell are you waiting for?)
  2. Logan is swoon worthy. Possibly one of the top five book boyfriends of all time. He’s the strong, silent, alpha, I-can-kill-you-with-my-pinky type, but never once does he venture into alphahole territory. He protects Ellie’s heart as carefully as he protects her body, and it’s all kinds of awesome.
  3. Secondary characters. Characters from past books in the series make noteworthy appearances in this book. It’s great to catch up with these old favorites. (Yes, I talk about them like they’re old friends. You will too if you read these books. They’re that well written.)
  4. Hilarity ensues. There are so many hilarious pop culture references and one-liners here that I almost wanted to keep a notebook handy and write some of them down for later appropriation.
  5. Sexual chemistry. The chemistry that Ellie and Logan have? It can only be described as combustible. This book isn’t about the sex scenes—there’s so much more to it than that—but just for the record, the sex scenes are STEAMY. Seriously.
  6. No instalove. Ellie and Logan fall in love over the course of 5 years. Totally realistic. I love that Ms. Chase can write a book about fictional royals and have the romance be 100% believable. Absolutely zero WTF moments. That almost never happens to me while I’m reading.
  7. Great bromances. There’s some great male bonding going on this book. (No, I’m not talking about anything menage-y.) The friendship between Logan and Nicholas, and Logan and the other bodyguards (particularly Tommy) was brilliantly written and so, so, much fun.
  8. Great epilogue. You know how sometimes an epilogue leaves you with so many questions that you almost resent the fact that there’s an epilogue at all? Why bother with an epilogue if I don’t get to hear all about the happily ever after, you know? That’s not an issue here. The epilogue told me everything I wanted to know, and it was adorable.
  9. “You’re always doing this,” she whispers.
    “Doing what?”
    “Saving me.”
    I smile, just a bit. “I don’t mind.
    “Hey Logan?”
    “Yeah?”
“One of these days…I’m going to save you back.”
  10. Did you seriously read numbers 1-9 without 1-clicking? What’s wrong with you??? Get to your Kindle!

I think that’s enough fangirling for now, seeing as my reputation as a cold-hearted, author-stomping bitch is most likely ruined. Seriously though: thank you Emma Chase. You always come through for me in my times of need!

Does this book contribute to or help crush the romance stigma?
Crushes the crap out of it. Clean and sober. No rehab needed.

Read the entire Emma Chase backlist. You’ll thank me later.
