Paranormal/Romantic Erotica/Humorous Erotica
Publication date: 08/01/2021 Kindle Unlimited: Yes Cliffhanger: No
Look, don't roll your eyes. Hear me out on this one. EVERYONE I follow on Twitter was talking about the "minotaur milking romance," and y'all know how curious I am. It was my curiosity that lead me to read an MPREG romance a little while back. So, yes, the phrase "minotaur milking" did make me do an Amazon search. I'll admit, the cover almost scared me off. But ultimately, my curiosity won out and I read Morning Glory Milking Farm by CM Nascosta...and I liked it. (Hey, I'm as surprised as you are.) Here's the scoop:
Plot overview: Financially struggling Violet works in a town where every conceivable type of creature lives. Vampires, orcs, elves, minotaur, werewolves...they are all present. And in this world, minotaur, um, ejaculate has medicinal purposes. So, minotaur come to the "milking farm" and are jacked off for pay. (They fill 24 oz milk bottles every time, y'all. But I digress...) Violet takes a job at the farm, meets minotaur Rourke, her first customer, and eventually falls for him.
Trope bingo: monster f#cking, low angst romance, workplace romance (kinda), size difference, (a BIG one...heh) friends to lovers romance. Now, I'm not saying you won't have to keep an open mind while reading this book. If you're squeamish about heroes with hooves and a tail, then this one probably isn't your jam. But, if you, like me, have enjoyed Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarians and are desensitized to heroes with, um, unusual body parts, then you'll probably be OK with this read. (And God bless you, Ruby Dixon, for the great work you do, ma'am. But I digress. Again. Sorry.) I guess what I liked most about this book was the complete lack of angst. This is just a sexy, short read about a hero and heroine falling in love after she jerks him off a few hundred times for her job. No big deal, right? Her job's not in danger because of their relationship, her family and friends aren't against the relationship, he doesn't expect her to quit her job just because she starts dating him...there's no angst at all. Rourke and Violet actually have a really cute, sweet, fluffy relationship that also happens to be SMOKIN' HOT and sexy AF. Rourke is a great romance hero. He's respectful, kind, successful, and not a jealous/possessive a-hole. He's a nice guy. I love nice guys in romance! Violet's pretty great, too. She's practical and smart and harbors no prejudices or preconceived notions about all the different types of folks she runs into on a daily basis. Watching Rourke and Violet get to know each other and become friends before getting romantically involved was oddly heartwarming. And I say "oddly" only because I didn't expect it. I expected monster porn, frankly, and this WAS NOT that. It's just erotica with a truly sweet romance behind it. My bad for expecting it to be...less than it was. I need to be more like Violet, I guess, and keep a more open mind at all times. So, anyhoo, long-story-short, if you're looking for an extra spicy read that is NOTHING like anything you've ever read before and features likeable characters and a fairly sweet, low-angst romance, THIS is the read for you. Does this book contribute to or help crush the romance stigma? This one crushes the stigma to death beneath minotaur hooves. No rehab needed.
