So, earlier this week, I admitted that I was a grumpy old hag who has officially aged out of new adult romance. In fact, I broke up with it once and for all. The angst and youthful dumbassery are just too much for me to handle. With that in mind, I thought it was time to update our recommendations for mature romance--that is, romance where characters are older than 30. There's some great stuff here, so get ready to 1-click, folks. Happy reading!

Thanks for the recommendations! I'd also add Getting a Grip and Balance Check by ME Carter - funny and realistic, definitely great reads!

Crusie's "Bet Me" is great, but addresses the issue of weight more than age. The age issue is more directly addressed in "Anyone But You." HIGHLY recommended!

Thanks for the suggestions. Everything Freya Barker is a must read for mature romance. I recently read Holding on to Someday by K. Leah which I highly recommend and the Magdalene series by Kristen Ashley

I'm THRILLED that I found you. While I'll read just about anything I have been searching for a place where I can find books that are for older readers. I am already listing new titles to look for . Thanks!

Ayla Asher's Ardor Creek series features a slew of older (late 30's to mid 40's) characters who go through domestic violence, grief, infertility, bullying and more.
