Plot overview: There’s a possible paranormal apocalypse in the works, and it’s up to Harper Hall and her band of semi-magical misfits to save the day. Again.
So, there’s a ton of stuff I like about this series. And I’m talking about the series before I talk about the book because Semi-Magical does not read as a standalone. You have to read the other books in the series to really understand what’s going on. I mean, you can follow the STORY without having read the series, but to really appreciate the characters and nuance of it all, you need to have read the series. Here’s the reading order in case you haven’t seen this one yet: Now that THAT’S out of the way, here’s what I love about the series:
So all the stuff I love about the series is present in this latest book, which is a crossover novel into a NEW series that sounds super interesting. I won’t give any of the plot away, but the stakes in this book are a little higher than the stakes in the other books in the series. Like, world-altering stakes. :0 That’s all I’m going to say. Other than this: go read this series, starting with book 1, Semi-Charmed, if you haven’t already. If you are already a fan of this series, go download this book immediately. You won’t regret it. Full disclosure: We received an ARC free of charge. Does this book contribute to or help crush the romance stigma? It’s clean and sober. No rehab needed. Other reading suggestions
