Strong fearless romance heroines who kick ass and take names

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: We need MORE fearless, take-charge, kick-ass women who can handle themselves in a crisis in romance novels. Doormat, wimpy, TSTL heroines are automatic DNFs as far as I’m concerned. So, with that said, here are some of our favorite fearless females in Romancelandia.

Note: Yes, some of these are technically urban fantasy. But they also have a strong romantic element, and these stories wouldn’t be complete without it. So, let’s not get into a debate about romance vs. urban fantasy, shall we? This is just for fun. Plus, it’s our list and no one is the boss of us, so there’s that…

I love that Lysette is on your list - I love the Immortal Guardians series by Dianne Duvall. All the women are intelligent, resilient, resourceful and have tons of gumption.

Have you read Teresa Gabelman's The Protectors series, her women are just as kickass.
