The best romance novels for super fans of Dean Winchester

This week marks the end of an era. On October 10, the first episode of the very last season (season 15) EVER of Supernatural will air on the CW. (Let’s all bow our heads for a moment of reverent silence) I’ve been a huge fan of the show since season 1, and despite a couple of minor missteps (*cough*Leviathans*cough), it’s been one hell of a road so far. (See, all you fans of the show will get that reference to the road so far. Everyone else...go watch the show. It’s on Netflix for crap’s sake. No excuses.)
But while I’ll miss the monsters of the week, the lore, and the multiple ways the boys manage to avoid (and sometimes kill) Death, I have to be honest. I’m going to miss Dean Winchester most of all. So, with that in mind, in honor of Dean and Supernatural’s final season, I thought it fitting to list out some of the best romance novels for super fans of the great Dean Winchester (aka: the fabulous Jensen Ackles, aka: my future second husband. Ahem.) May these romance heroes be a comfort to you when Dean is no longer on our TV screens weekly. Enjoy!

“He fixes stuff” porn

“He fixes stuff” porn
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: My sexual orientation is Dean Winchester working on his Impala. So if you’ll miss the soft-core porn that is Dean under the hood of his car after Supernatural ends, here are some great reads that’ll help fill the void.

He kicks ass

His kill count is probably higher than anyone on the show (and that’s saying A LOT). He survived a good long time in Purgatory, which was nothing more than back-to-back fights to the death. It’s safe to say that Dean kicks ass. If you’ll miss Dean’s ability to kick ass every week after Supernatural ends, then you’ll want to check out THESE romance heroes.

Always with the snark

Dean pretty much always has a hilarious, snarky comment. If you love that about him, then you won’t want to miss these romance novel heroes.

He’s grumpy

I don’t know why, but grumpy Dean is an especially hot Dean. And if you like grumpy heroes as much as I do, you won’t want to miss these.

He has a secret nerdy side

Sure, he looks like the kind of guy who played high school sports and might’ve stuffed nerds in their lockers, but at heart, he loves bad soap operas and Scooby Doo and horror movies and comics. He also knows all the words to Eye of the Tiger. So, if you love a secretly nerdy hero (who happens to also be scorchingly hot to look at), you won’t want to miss these guys.

He isn't ALWAYS the hero

One of absolute favorite versions of Dean? When he had the mark of Cain, and when he was a demon. Why? Because there are few things hotter than an anti-hero. Even when he was bad, I was still rooting for him. And if you love a good bad guy as much as I do, you NEED to read about these guys.

He protects and serves

Things don’t always go as planned for my Dean, but in his heart, he only wants to serve and protect humanity. And at the end of the day, is there anything more noble (or sexier) than that? Here are some reads about others who protect and serve.

I mean, I could probably go on for a while on this topic. There’s his devotion to his brother, the fact that he’s saved the world (like, a lot), his often selfless nature...but I gotta stop somewhere or we’ll never get anything done! So, I’ll just leave it at that.

What about y’all? What will you miss most about Dean Winchester? Let’s discuss!!

That is an excellent list just based off of the books I have read from each category.
