Everything I always love about a Melanie Harlow read is here: witty banter all over the place, a plot that makes sense and is easy to follow, heroines you can relate to, healthy female friendships and family relationships, and sexual tension/sex scenes so hot it’ll melt your Kindle. The other thing that’s great here is that while this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. If you haven’t read Irresistible, you can read Undeniable without feeling like you’re missing out on some kind of inside joke. (Although if you haven’t read Irresistible I’m not sure what you’re waiting for. Was I not clear when I said it was awesome?) Now, I will admit that I had a little trouble warming up the hero, Oliver. While he’s smart and sexy enough to stand proudly among all the other Harlow heroes I know and love, he wasn’t as nice a guy as some of the others are. He was a full-on jerk as a younger man, and he’s frankly pretty lucky that Chloe is the sweet, forgiving woman she is, because I would’ve nut-punched Oliver on several occasions. But, that said, I cut him some slack because he didn’t have any trouble admitting he’d been a tool when he was younger. I just wish he had a little better relationship with honesty. I feel confident that if this was a real couple, Chloe would whip him into shape in no time, though—so I can forgive him and not let it take away from my 5-star rating. So, long-story-short, here we have yet another winner from Melanie Harlow. Can the woman do no wrong? If she can, I haven’t seen it yet. Does this book contribute to or help crush the romance stigma? No rehab needed. This one’s clean and sober. Other reading suggestions
