I've read some great stuff lately that I just haven't had time to review. But take my word for it--you'll want to read THESE: Why you should read it: It's a heart-wrenching and super emotional friends-to-lovers romance, and it's every bit as good as Release, which I ADORED. It can be read as a standalone, too. Why you should read it: It's romance for grownups. Mature people doing mature things maturely. It's SUCH a refreshing change from all the childish asshattery that I find in so many of my DNF books lately. Also, Ava is a fantastic heroine. She's blind, but that's not an impediment to the romance between her and Luke. I can never get enough of imperfect heroes and heroines in romance, and both Luke and Ava fit that trope nicely. (He's a war vet with some issues and scars of his own.) A 5-star emotional read all the way. Why you should read it: A) It's gut-bustingly hilarious, B) It's low angst, friends-to-lovers, "there's only one bed" yummy goodness, C) Everything this woman writes is magic. But Eddie is my book boyfriend, so y'all can read about him, but know that HE'S MINE. Why you should read it: Every time I see a best of paranormal romance list that doesn't include this author, I feel like everyone isn't reading as much paranormal as I am--because this author is phenomenal. Great world building, snappy dialogue, female characters who kick ass and take names...what more could PNR lovers want? This book is great and can be read as a standalone, but you should also read Air of Darkness and Inside the Flame--not because you HAVE to, but because they're awesome. Why you should read it: Grumpy ex-con single dad meets shiny, happy heroine fabulousness. 5-stars all the way! Why you should read it: It's the new Ilona Andrews book. Duh! Yes, it's every bit as fabulous as you'd expect. That doesn't surprise you, does it? Why you should read it: The hero is a super sexy, nice guy, who is a single dad--and he falls for the girl next door who has been pining for him for half her life. The moment when he realizes he has feelings for her too is SO AWESOME. Highly recommend. Fair warning, though: he has some moments of asshattery at the end of the book. They don't last long, though. Power through those few pages and you'll really enjoy this one. Why you should read it: This author, more than any other I've found in PNR, does the unexpected. You're never quite sure where her stories are going while you're reading, and I find that delightful. Plus there are always plenty of scorching-hot sexy times, so there's THAT... What about you? Read anything great lately? Let me know! Feel free to drop some titles and links in the comments.
