I'm not the only one who wanted to grow up to be a librarian, was I? Maybe that's why I love THESE librarians in romance novels so much:

There were a crapton of AWESOME new releases this month, and today, I'm going to point out the ones I think should move ahead of all the others on your TBR list. Trust me. You'll thank me later, after you've read these:
Every time someone posts a kickass romance heroines list, you see the usual suspects. And there's nothing wrong with these physically strong, smart, tough heroines that grace the lists over and over again. But what about the heroines who are not exactly physically strong, but kickass nonetheless? And what about strong, smart, kickass heroines you can find in Kindle Unlimited? Well, THIS is the list for everyone who, like me, has stopped to ask those questions:
Yes I'm aware that Captain America is not a lumberjack or mountain man. But since this was maybe the hottest thing he's ever done, this is the GIF I chose. You're welcome. But anyhoo, the request I made on Monday for lumberjack/mountain man recs netted some VERY interesting results. (It also depleted my bank account a bit, but that's a tale for another day) Thought I'd share the results and give y'all some great lumberback/mountain man reads for #WeekendReads and #FridayReads. Note: I've also included the occasional forest ranger and wilderness guide on the list for your pleasure. Enjoy! Here they are:
While 2020 was a total dumpster fire in many respects, it was actually a very GOOD year for great books. This list proves it. Here are my picks for the best reads of 2020:
So, a while back, I put together a rock star romance list and got RIPPED A NEW ONE for one of my recommendations. (I stand by that recommendation, by the way--but if you're curious, check out the comments here.) Long-story-short, this reader was irritated that one of the books featured a rock star with addiction issues and a checkered sexual history (ahem)--and he wasn't very nice to his newest female employee. While I didn't agree with what this individual had to say (she wasn't very kind and didn't use her inside voice, that's for SURE), it did make me realize that manwhores and alpha jerkwads DO seem to show up a lot in rock star romances. BUT, as with anything else in life, there are exceptions, of course. So, with that in mind, here are my favorite rock star romances that do NOT feature a manwhore or alpha jerkwad lead. You're welcome:
Friday the 13th doesn't have to be all scary and gloom and doom. We could just read great romance novels instead of waiting for something awful to happen. Just a thought. And with that thought in mind here are 13 GREAT 2020 romance novels that I hope you'll adore just as much as I did:
What about y'all? What books are in your top 13 for 2020? Feel free to share 'em in the comments!
I think I've made it fairly clear over the years that I'm a HUGE fan of grumpy romance heroes--especially the "grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one" trope. But I got to thinking...what about the grumpy romance HEROINE? When is she going to get some love? You know, that heroine who is a good, likeable person at heart, but who is just OVER all the BS? The tired, put-upon, "been there, done that" heroine. I love that heroine! So, I went on a search (I searched far and wide, because these heroines are NOT as plentiful as the grumpy heroes) and came up with what I think is the best list of grumpy heroines in romance that you'll ever find. (If I do say so myself) Don't say I never gave you anything, OK? Happy reading:
As you know, my epic book reading slump rages on. So, for today's list, I thought I'd fondly remember the most recent 15 five-star books I read and reviewed on the site. (Because who knows when I'll find another one, you know? Things are looking pretty grim right now.) Without further ado, here they are:
I've talked about neighbor romance before, but I think it's WAY past time to update that list. Wouldn't you agree? If not, you will after reading about THESE neighbors:
I might have mentioned that I have a weakness for grumpy heroes, right? Because I really, really do. Grumpy bosses, in particular, are some of my favorites. With that in mind, here are my picks for the 11 hottest grumpy bosses in romance today. Happy reading:
I'm in a horrible book slump, y'all. I've lost count of the books I've DNF'd lately. And now I'm paralyzed by indecision and I'm not even sure what to pick out of my TBR pile. So, all I can do at this point to break the slump is to read a sure thing. That's right, I'm going to re-read books that I've loved to help get me out of this hole until I can find my next new great read. That said, here are the re-read favorites I'm considering. And, if you haven't read these, I suggest you get to your Kindles immediately and start 1-clicking. You might want to have these on file for when YOU find yourself in a horrible book slump:
Any critics who say that all romance novels are light and fluffy CLEARLY haven't read these high-stakes reads (and they should read them, because they're AWESOME):
Did you think that paranormal romance was too dark and scary to help you escape grim reality? Well, think again! I'm here to tell you that there are some truly awesome feel-good paranormal romances out there that'll make you forget all about viruses and elections and murder hornets. (aka: 2020) And just to be clear: my criteria for "feel good" is lots of laughs, plenty of snark, and very few super-scary or dark moments. So without further ado, here are the BEST feel-good paranormal romances to help you escape reality:
First of all, I binge-watched this series in 2 days. It's that good. Whether you were a fan of the original 1984 movie, or you were a Gen X kid who wants to wallow in some good old nostalgia, this is the series for you. It also helps that it's funny, at times heart-warming, and incredibly well-written. The great writing alone should keep any youngsters who weren't even born when the original movie came out interested. So, that said, this post is a combo Cobra Kai review, and book recommendations list. 'Cause that's just how I roll. You're welcome. Here it goes:
